Kyllähän tuollainen muutos pistää koviksenkin itkemään. En kuitenkaan pillittänyt kuin neljä pisaraa.

Lapsuuteni lelut hyvästelivät minut, vai pilkkaavatko ne..? // Toys from my childhood bid me farewell or were they mocking me..?

(1: All my stuff have found their place in my new home. 2: It’s still a bit difficult to fall asleep at nights, because the enviroment is still so new. You can still smell the former resident’s scent from the wallpapers. 3: The walls are far too empty for my taste but I’m not sure what to put on them. – Gotta do something!)

(A couple of days earlier… 1: This is it now! The last chick is about to fly away from the nest! – Yeah, sorry. – It’s okay mom, I’ll come and mooch off you when things get difficult. 2: HORSE SHIT! – A fine tale but I can’t scan it… 3: You too! Eat shit!)

Piirsin vielä eilisen fiilikset mukaan pilaamaan tunnelman. Sanoisin että eilen illalla scannerin ja koneen välinen sotku oli melkoinen tunnelman pilaaja. Nyt skannaaminen luonnistuu, joskin pienen mutkan kautta, mutta kuitenkin.

I included the yesterday evening’s vibes to ruin the comic’s mood. I’d say that it was a real mood killer as I noticed what a mess the scanner’s and lap top’s co-operation was. Now I can scan again, it’s a bit slower this way but it works.

Huh. Muutto on kyllä ohi, mutta vasta tänään sain skannerin tykkäämään Vista-läppäristäni. Tai sitten en, sillä nyt HP:n ja CS2:sen yhteistyö takkuaa… Sarjakuvia on siis enemmänkin, mutta vain tämän ensimmäisen sain selailtavaan muotoon. Kaatuvaan CS:ään meni hermo toisen sarjakuvan kohdalla, kolmatta en välittänyt enää edes skannata. Ehkä huomenna.

Whew. I’ve already moved in, but I didn’t manage to get my scanner work with my Vista laptop until today. Or maybe not, since now the co-operation between HP and CS2 is nonexistant… I have drawn more comics than this, but this was the only one I could edit. Igave up on editing the second piece because of crashing CS and didn’t even bother to scan the third one. Maybe tomorrow.

(1: YES! I found a Heavy Duty stapler at first try! I wonder how much this costs? 2: *91,80 euros*)

Jos koululta löytyy vastaava nitoja, niin ehkä voin lykätä sen ostoa vähän aikaa. Tuo Heavy Duty on vähintäänkin pakollinen, jos mielii minikokoa suurempia omakustanteita nitoa.

Ai niin, tämän sarjakuvan piirsin sillä Manuscript-kynällä. Kuten ruutujen hailuista viivoista voittekin päätellä, rakas sivellinkynäni kieltäytyy taas jostakin syystä yhteistyöstä. Voi olla, että pipetin mukana säiliöön tulee sen verran ilma, ettei muste pääse kuplien takia liikkeelle.

If I manage to find a similar stapler from the school I may not need to buy one just yet. That Heavy Duty stapler is more than necessary if you want to make bigger than miniature sized small prints.

Oh yeah, I drew this one with my Manuscript fountain pen. As you can see from the panels’ shaky outlines my dear brush tip pen has refused to work with me yet again for some reason. It could be that every time I refill the cartridges air gets inside them and the bubbles prevent ink from flowing into the tip.

Tämä kuherruskuukausi päättyy viimeistään siinä vaiheessa, kun sopivia patruunoita ei löydykään ja joudun täyttämään niitä itse.

(1: All new groups have a certain influence. Onneksi tuollainen kränä on jäänyt luultua vähemmäksi. Ei hätää kullannuput, en mä voi olla yhtään enempää pikkusormi pystyssä kuin mitä jo olen.

Thank goodness there hasn’t been as much of badmouthing as I feared. Don’t worry muffins, I couldn’t keep my pinkie up more than I already do.

(1: First Day at TTVO – I dun wanna. 2: First we listened, followed and then again listened to others for hours. – Baa!  – Let’s go see the second floor. 3: Then we were smacked awake with a mind map  assignment. – Read the curriculum and then analyze it. 4: It was a group assignment. – I’m too tired to think. – I’m not getting it. 5:  It’d be better if I went to see the student counselor now and not after six months when I already have managed to screw things up. – That’s what happened in high school.)

Opintosuunnitelma oli kieltämättä vähän vaikeaselkoinen. Ehkä mä selviän jos kiusaan vain tutoreita, opoa en ehkä tällä viikolla ehdi tapaamaan.

The curriculum was kind of hard to understand, I must admit.  Maybe I’ll manage if I pester the tutors instead of the student counselor, I may not have enough time for the latter.

(1: A good heap of items have piled up in the living room. 2: I kept thinking about the stuff that won’t move into the new apartment with me.  3: I no longer have room for these pounds and pounds of treasures from my childhood and teen years. 4: There’s quite a mountain of stuff in the living room.  Surely you won’t leave them there? – Nah… 5: It’s not like there going to stay here for long anyway. 6: … how are you feeling? 7: I’m wearing a bathrobe! I never wear bathrobes! – Oh dear.)

Vietin lähes koko eilisen käyden läpi muuttokuormaani ja heittäen pois vanhoja piirroksia. Iltaa myöten minulla oli päällä pelkkä kylpytakki, jota en todellakaan käytä usein. Käytän sitä niin harvoin, että yllätyn joka kerta sen olemassaolosta kun käyn läpi vaatekomeroa. Nyt kääriydyin siihen koko päiväksi ensimmäistä kertaa sitten teinivuosien, ellei peräti lapsuuden..?

Yesterday I spent almost the entire day going through my moving cargo and throwing away old drawings. Most of the day I was wearing nothing but  a bathrobe which I usually don’t wear. I wear it so rarely that I’m slightly surprised by it’s existence every time I go through my closet. Now I wrapped myself in it for almost a day for the first time since my teen years or maybe even childhood..?

Kun aluksi suunnittelin piirtäväni sarjakuvan nykyisen poikaystäväni ja minun välisestä vitsistä eli näytellystä parisuhdeväkivallasta sellaisenaan sitä selittämättä,  joutuisin mahdollisesti dissauksen kohteeksi. Tuntuu tosin siltä että nyt kun esitän teille tämän sarjakuvan sarkastisen sensuroituna kommentteihin saattaa kolista pari tyytymätöntä riviä.

When at first I planned to draw this comic about my and my boyfriend’s little inside joke which is acting like physically abusive spouses without really explaining it I knew I could get stuck in the middle of a flame war. Now that I have presented this sarcastically censored comic to you, I think there might  soon be a few lines of disapproval waiting for me in the comments section.

(1: Okay, so being as comics oriented people as you are, you propably have heard of the Heavenliest Small Print contest held at the Helsinki Comics Festival? 2: Three best small prints, fame but not necessarily glory. 3: However the contest required three copies to be sent and I have only one copy of Vagina Dentata. 4: So I went through my stashes in case I have enough Candy King or Dr. Identity Crisis copies I could send. 5: Then suddenly I revealed two copies of Vagina Dentata inside a paper case! Jumping Jesus!)

(1: I think I was supposed to sell these at the Tampere Kuplii festival..? *reserved* 2: Surely I have remembered to deliver all the bought copies?! 4: Okay guys: if you have ordered and godhavemercy even payed for your copy without getting it,  SHOUT. I really, really want to enter this contest but I also want to be sure.  There’s no point even dreaming about victory and fame if I ruin my reputation first, right? I’m not taking any *new* orders, though…)
