Piti minun päiväkirjamerkintäkin tänne laittaa, mutta piirsin sen niin sekavassa tilassa ettei se ole erityisen hyvä. Sen sijaan mainostan teille uusinta ja samalla myös ensimmäistä albumiani, ‘Vagina Dentata’. Tässä on sen kansi:

I was supposed to upload a journal entry but I drew it in such a confused state that it’s really not that good. Instead I’m going to advertise my newest and also my first album, ‘Vagina Dentata’. Here’s the cover:

Unfortunately I haven’t translated Vagina Dentata into English.

Vagina Dentata kertoo noin kolmikymppisestä arkkitehdista nimeltä Patrik Pajanen. Patrikilla on kaikki edellytykset tyydyttävään elämään, mutta hänellä on yksi merkittävä ongelma: hän pelkää seksiä naisten kanssa. Kaikki on sujunut hyvin yksin elellessä, mutta ystävän tupareissa hänet tutustutetaan nuoreen kääntäjään, Märtaan. Patrik rakastuu ja haluaa yrittää parisuhdetta ja samalla pelkonsa voittamista. Se ei kuitenkaan käy helposti…

Vagina Dentata is a story about a  thirty-something architect called Patrik Pajanen. Patrik has all what it takes to have a secured and satisfying life but he has one significant problem: he is scared of having sex with women. Life in solitude has been good until at a friend’s house warming party he is introduced to Märta, a young translator. Patrik falls in love with her and wants to give relationship a go and also try to conquer his fear. It won’t be easy, though…

Kyseistä alpparia painetaan aluksi Kupliita varten vain 15 kappaletta. Myöhempiä painoksia varten minulla sitten pitääkin olla oikeasti rahaa…

We’re making 15 of the forementioned album for the Tampere Kuplii festival. If I want more I actually have to pay for them…

Jotenkin tästä mun pitkiksestä tuli 46 sivua pitkä. Ihmetyttää vieläkin miten se on mahdollista, koska lisättyjä sivuja kohden on myös poistettuja sivuja. Eipä siinä mitään, lehdestä tuli albumi.

Somehow my project grew to contain 46 pages. I’m still amazed how that was possible, since I didn’t only add pages but removed some also. I’m not complaining though, my small print just turned into an album.

Olisin tietysti oinut ilmoittaa tännekin, mutta piru vie kun en muistanut…  Olin siis kolmisen päivää poissa sukuloimassa Joensuussa. Epäonnistuin piirtämään pitkistäni, mutta piirsin sentään päiväkirjaa.

Jo senkin lisäksi että lähdin reissuun vähän ankeissa fiiliksissä lehtien etusivulla komeili lööppi suosikkiääninäyttelijämme kuolemasta. Helge ‘ Herkku’ Herala dubbasi tietääksemme koko Super-Nalle -animaation suomeksi, yksin. Laatu on kamalaa, mutta omalla tavallaan hellyyttävää ja ehdottomasti koomista. Luokkamme ei katso Super-Nallea enää samalla tavoin, ei ainakaan vähään aikaan.  Sen verran hyvä jätkä Helge oli, että saatan hyvinkin järjestää pienen muistotilaisuuden, jahka koulu alkaa taas ensi viikolla.

On Tuesday the frontpages declared the death of Helge Herala, a finnish actor, which ruined my already gloomy day even more. To our knowledge he dubbed the entire ‘Super Ted’ animation series into Finnish, alone. The quality was hideous but heartwarming and deifinitely funny in it’s own way. Our class will not watch Super Ted the same way anymore, atleast not for a while.  Helge was such a good chap that I’ll most likely arrangesome sort of small memorial servce  at school next week after the winter break.

(1: Today we hit the flea market with aunty Nelli 2: At the back I saw a pile of childrens’ animations and movies and on top there was a porno movie, Group Grope Fucking. 3:  In order for a child to get hands on one of the videos, he/she would have to take off the porno first. * shitty cardboard case  + a  stain of you-know-what* 4: Probably an unintentional accident but it’s still kinda sadistic.  P.S., a new CD player!)

Joensuun kirppareilla on ihan hauska käydä, koska sieltä voi löytää sellaisia aarteita, joita ei enää etelämmästä löydy, ainakaan inhimilliseen hintaan. Joensuun kirpparit ovat kuitenkin asteen verran epäsiistimpiä, josta tuo pornokasetti oli hyvä esimerkki. En usko että aikuisetkaan olisi kovin mielellään koskeneet siihen.

The flea markets in Joensuu are fun to visit because you can find the kind of treasures that no longer exist in south or cost a hefty price. However the flea markets are often sligthly less clean, the porno cassette being a good example. I don’t think too many grown ups wanted to touch it either.

Paluumatkalla en saanut oikein mitään järkevää aikaiseksi, mutta muistin ainakin dokumentoida yhden vastaan ajaneen auton.  Se oli iso pakettiauto, jonka penkeillä istui nuorehko nainen, Blues Brothers -tyyppiset ladsit päässä, keskellä poika samanlaiset alsit päässä ja ratin ääressä istui vanhempi mies, hänkin BB-lasit päässä. Se näytti tältä:

On way back home I couldn’t come up with anything, really, but I managed to document a car that passed us by. It was a big van, with a young woman on the front seat, wearing Blues Brothers sunglasses, a young boy in the middle, with the same style glasses and behind the wheel there was an elderly man, also wearing BB-glasses. It looked like this.

Asetelma ei ollut varsinaisesti outo, mutta tyttö ja poika molemmat pitelivät päätään käsiensä varassa ilman että näyttivät nojaavan mihinkään. Kaiken lisäksi oli hyvin harmaa sää koko maassa, jolloin tuskin oli vaaraa lumen häikäisevän liikaa. Lol wut?

It all wasn’t that strange in particular but the girl and the boy we both holding their heads and for a while it seemed that they weren’t leaning on anything. On top of that today was a very gray one without the risk of white snow being too bright on the eyes. Lol wut?

Luojan lykky haku alkoikin oikeasti vasta seitsemän aikoihin. Luulin jo että palvelu oli alkanut jo puolen yön jälkeen ja ehtinyt aamuun mennessä kuormittua käyttökelvottomaksi. Osaanpas mä olla hölmö.

Thank God the online application hadn’t opened until at 7 AM.  I already thought that it had opened right after midnight and was already down this morning (that happened last year). What a silly goose I can be.
